Fiberglass

Fiberglass is a combined material of glass fibers and a polymer binder (epoxy resin or other). Glass fibers give strength to the composite, and the binder holds the fibers together, distributing loads throughout the structure, protecting it from environmental influences.

The mechanical properties of fiberglass depend on the properties of the fibers in the fabric, the type of weaving of the fabric itself, the lubricant used in weaving this fabric, the binder used in the manufacture of plastic and adherence to the technology of fiberglass production.

Glass-reinforced plastics are one of the most important representatives of the group of polymeric materials, united by the name “reinforced plastics”. Parts made of fiberglass on epoxy resin are not inferior in strength to steel, so it is a structural material in the manufacture of various products.

Characteristic features of fiberglass products are:

Structural Fiberglass

This type of fiberglass is one of the types of materials that are intended as a reinforcing material for the manufacture of fiberglass. Fiberglass based on woven materials, in comparison with fiberglass based on nonwoven materials, have higher physical and mechanical properties and are used in the manufacture of critical parts and structures.

These properties make their use indispensable in all industries in the production of critical parts.

Structural fiberglass fabrics are made from aluminoborosilicate glass type “E” with a surface density of 210 to 850 g/m2. with different weave structures, either raw or pre-impregnated for improved interaction with polyester, epoxy, formaldehyde, epoxyphenolic and other types of resins.
